John Novalis

John is a highly experienced leader and senior executive. John’s passion is mentoring and coaching on decision making processes, change management, and life harmony for executives. John spent 32 years in the United States Army retiring as a Brigadier General. He currently resides in Keller, Texas.

John joined the military after graduating in 1987 from West Point with a degree in Economics and a commitment to succeed and lead. While in the military John served in key roles in Poland, Germany, and in combat both in Iraq and Afghanistan. 

John held two particular jobs of distinction which helped shape his approach to leadership and life: first, as the Deputy Commander for Sustainment of the famed 101st Airborne Division where his portfolio included the logistical planning, sustainment, and equipment readiness of Fort Campbell, Kentucky’s 21,000+ Soldiers and civilians. He also led sustainment operations in Iraq and Syria. His role also included training and leadership development initiatives across a broad level of basic and advanced programs. 

Secondly, he served as Executive Assistant to the 18th Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff where he assisted the Chairman in articulating military advice on strategic policies to the President of the United States and Secretary of Defense for over two years, as well as traveling the world supporting the United States State Department’s diplomatic efforts. 

John understands the value of decision making, the importance of developing leaders, and the importance of a holistic approach to life balance (mental, physical, spiritual). He is passionate about making people better at work and at home.

An aviator with over 500 combat hours, he holds advanced degrees in human resources from Webster University, and in national security strategy from the National War College.

A native of Williamsport, Pennsylvania, John is an avid fly fisherman, skilled outdoorsmen, sports fan, father of two sons, grandfather, and husband to Mary for over 34+ years. John currently sits on the Board of Directors for Free Form Fibers and No Barriers and gives his time between family and church while finding life equilibrium fulfilling his life passions.
