Larry has over 30 years of proven leadership, both in the military and in Forbes 500 companies, transforming these organizations and their culture to produce trusting and diverse teams to execute strategic objectives. His expertise represents a perfect balance between combat leadership and business leadership. Larry is a disciplined team builder, with a growth mindset, building resiliency in teams leading to translatable skillsets that excel in high-tempo and high-pressure environments. He brings a unique and fresh perspective from his experience in both the military and business spaces.
Larry has led organizations ranging in size from 100 to 3000 people, focused on building winning teams, developing strong relationships, and setting high standards across those organizations. Consistently recognized for building strong and trusting cultures resulted in him being awarded both the U.S. Navy Battle “E” for warfighting expertise as well as the Golden Anchor for his development of people and their retention. Larry was also awarded the “Leader of the Year” from his community.
As a leader in a world ranked Forbes 500 company, he developed a strategic cross-functional team of stakeholders to manage growth as they acquired other businesses doubling revenue and ROI. He coached and mentored senior leaders throughout this process to build a leadership pipeline of succession and alignment of vision, strategy, and objectives. His efforts transformed the division’s shared values, sense of belonging, and connection which resulted in a 50% increase in execution, productivity, and performance management.
Larry has worked on large staffs as well as for some of the largest companies in the US. He has the distinct honor of being a trusted personal advisor to three former Secretaries of Defense. Larry built winning results in highly political, complex and volatile environments. As a strategic advisor to the Secretary of Defense, he helped craft national strategy and crisis response during some of the most dynamic and high-risk events facing the nation.
After a lifetime of leadership, coaching, and building high-performing teams, Larry’s purpose is to guide others on their leadership journey and help improve the quality of their lives and the quality of life of those they lead. Larry currently resides in Milford, Michigan, with his wife, Stacy. They have a son playing collegiate baseball in Michigan and a daughter playing collegiate volleyball in Florida.
