Position: Director
Chris Kulas is a seasoned executive with a rich background as a senior officer in the Air Force, corporate manager, and entrepreneur. He excels at building strong alliances within organizations and across communities, driving results through collaboration. Chris fosters innovation and creativity, even in complex or crisis situations, keeping teams focused and energized. He is adept at orchestrating sensible solutions to challenges while influencing peers and partners to align with a shared vision.
A retired colonel, Chris served 25 years in the United States Air Force. A mobility pilot with 4,000 hours he has successfully commanded at the squadron, group, and wing levels, in peacetime and combat. As a wing and installation commander, he led over 3,000 personnel and was responsible for the well-being of 16,000 family members stationed overseas.
After his military career, Chris became the Regional Director for Site Management at USAA in Dallas, overseeing two facilities and 800 employees. An advocate for community engagement, he directed outreach initiatives in the Dallas-Fort Worth area, managed a corporate responsibility grant program, and collaborated with business and veteran organizations. Following his tenure at USAA, Chris served as the Director of Defense Programs for Boeing Distribution, where he led a team of 12 program managers in a portfolio of aircraft parts projects, achieving annual revenues exceeding $100 million. Chris currently is an independent consultant and works with his wife in a care management business.
An U.S. Air Force Academy graduate, Chris holds a master’s degree in National Resource Strategy from the Eisenhower School at National Defense University. He also earned a Master of Aviation Science from Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University and a Master of Military Operational Art from Air Command and Staff College.
As one of three Olmsted Scholars representing the U.S. Air Force, Chris studied Eastern European and Russian studies at Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. The Olmsted Foundation selects a select group of military officers each year to study overseas in a foreign language, fostering a deep understanding of cultural perspectives in future leaders.
Chris combines his military leadership experience, corporate acumen, and commitment to community service in his coaching practice, empowering individuals and organizations to reach their full potential.
