April is a retired Air Force Major General with over three decades of service. Throughout her career, she held numerous executive leadership positions, most recently as the Director for the Office of Legislative Liaison, where she was the primary advisor to the principal executive of the National Guard Bureau on all matters of congressional interest.  In this role, she oversaw all engagements with Congress, guiding legislative priorities and ensuring alignment with key national interests.

April’s distinguished military career included leadership at all levels of command across a broad spectrum of military operations and personnel management.  She was a mobility pilot with over 1,600 flight hours and deployed in support of both Operation IRAQI FREEDOM and Operation ENDURING FREEDOM.

As a Wing Commander, she was the senior leader responsible for 3,500 Airmen performing worldwide combat air refueling and airlift missions while providing critical installation support to 34 partners organizations and 19,000 personnel. In this role she was responsible for the full spectrum of operations, logistics, finance and personnel management.  She was also tasked to oversee a $190M annual budget and $8B in assets.

While serving as the Director, Manpower, Personnel, Recruiting and Services for the Air National Guard, April managed the comprehensive plans and policies covering all life cycles of personnel management to include advocacy at the headquarters level, end strength management, education and training, and resource allocation on behalf of more than 108,000 personnel across 54 states and territories.

April holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of Colorado, a master’s degree in national security strategy from the National War College, and an executive coaching certificate from Georgetown University.

Her strength in leadership is rooted in her diverse experiences across various levels of command, her ability to navigate complex organizational structures, and her aptitude for navigating challenges and crafting strategic, results driven solutions.
