Shawn is a retired General with more than 30 years of experience leading organizations and developing teams in high-stakes and high-demand environments across the globe.
Shawn helps his C-suite clients balance and integrate diverse talent pools and functions, leveraging his experience as an incredibly successful senior leader of a 3,000-person organization, and later as the C-suite leader of a globally distributed team of more than 1,600 personnel. Shawn is an expert at optimizing team capabilities, identifying what needs to be done and working with clients to develop and implement effective strategies to improve organizational efficiency and effectiveness. He proved these abilities in working with numerous clients in the private sector and in his time as one of the United States Space Force's first senior executives charged with standing up the newest branch of the US armed forces.
He has specific expertise and experience unlocking improved performance in full-spectrum talent management, leadership learning and development, organizational development and operating models, customer and employee experience, change management, enterprise-wide communications and collaboration, organizational culture, systems-thinking, and strategy development and implementation.
Shawn holds both a bachelor’s and master’s degree in business administration and was a Fellow at Harvard’s Kennedy School of Government. Shawn believes in volunteering to help others. He serves on the governing board of advisors for a non-profit public media organization, and as an executive committee member for a non-profit veterans support organization. He and his wife of 30 years have two adult children and reside in Virginia. In his spare time, Shawn enjoys reading, writing, exercising, and pulling for his beloved hometown Buffalo Bills to finally win the big game.
